Jay Jacobs, former owner of RAPID Manufacturing in Nashua, NH. With a focus on prototypes, the RAPID team over the years combined state-of-the art equipment with the continuous automation of manual tasks and rigorous employee training to enable the quoting of over 100,000 unique parts and manufacturing of over 30,000 unique parts in 2017. Ultimately RAPID became the largest prototype sheet metal manufacturer in the world, with over 350 employees delivering 99% of their orders on time or early. RAPID was acquired by ProtoLabs (NYSE:PRLB), a public company regarded as the global leader in digital manufacturing. Jay is now involved as a co-Founder at Paperless Parts, a start-up providing an online marketplace for the buying and selling of custom manufactured parts.
